Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal
1/4 c quick oats
1/2 c milk
1 teaspoon peanut butter
Half a banana
Honey drizzled on top
Since I slept in this morning, it was closer to lunch time so I made a small batch. This recipe is in honor of my dad who passed a long to me his delight for peanut butter and banana sandwiches. This oatmeal recipe tasted just like eating the sandwich...just with a spoon. YUM!
With the rainy weather here in the Dayton area we decided to head to the Cincinnati Museum Center for something to do indoors. It took us just under two hours to get to Cincinnati from Dayton...that's not normal! There was a terrible accident in the middle of construction and certain parts of both sides of the freeway was closed. A lot of exit ramps were closed because of construction so we didn't have a lot of options to get off. By the time we did get off we stopped to grab a bite to each and figure out another way to go. Eventually we made it to the museum center. By the time we arrived, we only had a couple hours till closing so we only went to the Natural History & Science Museum. We had a good time together and enjoyed the small room with a few live animals along with bones & stuffed animal replicas. The other fun part was the replica of a Kentucky cave you can walk through. It was neat even though it wasn't real. They do have times when you can watch them release bats in closed off areas of the cave (we weren't there at that time, but we saw one lone bat climbing on the netting behind the glass). We ate dinner at the Montgomery Inn on the Ohio River. The river is extremely high right now and it was moving very fast. Lots of random debris was floating down the river (basketballs, truck beds, tires, etc). Food was delicious and apparently a former NFL kicker was seated behind us just before we left:) Praying those in the accident are okay and thankful for a great day with the Moore's.
